Contents
Per tab Na alginate 250 mg, Na bicarbonate 106.5 mg, Ca carbonate 187.5 mg. Per 10 mL oral susp Na alginate 500 mg, Na bicarbonate 213 mg, Ca carbonate 325 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptoms of GERD eg, acid regurgitation, heartburn & indigestion eg, following meals or during pregnancy & for symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult & childn ≥12 yr 2-4 tab up to qid. Susp Adult & childn ≥12 yr 10-20 mL up to qid. Childn <12 yr Should be given only on medical advice.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after meals & at bedtime. Chew tab thoroughly before swallowing.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Moderate or severe renal insufficiency.
Special Precautions
Patients on highly restricted salt diet eg, CHF & renal impairment; w/ hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis & recurrent Ca-containing renal calculi; phenylketonuria. May mask symptoms of other serious, underlying medical conditions. Oral susp May cause allergic reactions due to methyl parahydroxybenzoate & propyl para hydroxybenzoate.
Adverse Reactions
Anaphylactic & anaphylactoid reaction. Hypersensitivity reactions eg, urticaria; resp effects eg, bronchospasm.
